The Department of Game Studies aims to cultivate creative and practical professionals needed by the game industry, which is one of the high value-added industries of the 21st century.

Technologies related to game production are being utilized in various industries beyond the gaming sector, thanks to the integration of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). These technologies have found applications in fields such as education, training, manufacturing, and healthcare. To address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, we are actively fostering top-notch talent in the domains of game programming, game graphics, and game planning.

Furthermore, in 2008, the 'Cultural Contents Specialized Exchange Institution Project' was selected and received support totaling KRW 700 million over a span of 3 years. In 2009, the 'CRC Project' was also chosen and received KRW 1.3 billion in support over 3 years. In the same year, the 'High-Tech Arcade Game Regional Innovation Center Project' by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy was selected. This project garnered significant national support, including its designation as a 'university specialization project' in 2014, with a financial backing of KRW 13 billion over 10 years. In addition, it was again selected as a 'university specialization project' and received KRW 7.5 billion in support over 5 years. As a result, we have acquired state-of-the-art technology and advanced facilities and equipment, providing students with valuable opportunities beyond the standard curriculum. We are committed to nurturing the finest game development experts by offering various student support programs, such as seminars with industry professionals, long-term intensive workshops, and industry-academia collaborations.
