Research Cluster

The research labs promoted by the Department of Visual Contents conduct continuous research and projects to develop technology and knowledge in the content area. In particular, it attempts a qualitative research approach directed by professors and students in project execution.

Researchers here are composed of competent professors with at least 10 years of experience in the field of content in this field. In addition, the research environment is supported so that they can work with a sense of responsibility and ownership by forming an organizational culture that is free and creative.

Each member places importance on creative ideas and expands their domain as a leader in the content industry through pioneering technology research and application that can contribute to the development of local communities, countries, and even humankind.

Cultural Heritage Digital Restoration Lab

Purpose
To operate the only digital restoration research institute of cultural heritage in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsang Province.

Studio KAY, Virtual Character Creation Production Lab

Virtual Character Creation Production Lab creates virtual characters in line with changes in the ever-evolving media era. It is a research lab that plans and produces Virtual Influencers that are used in various media. Purpose

-Create virtual characters and use them as models and actors.

-Create a Virtual Influencer to exert a good influence in the online world.

-Study virtual characters for various commercialization.

FINEST Lab

FINEST means “Filmmakers Never Stop”. Filmmakers burn their passion for creativity with the spirit of never giving up. This research lab is made up of graduate students studying film, where professors and students learn, experience, and develop as they create works together. It is a research lab where you learn the attitude, skills, and knowledge of filmmakers.

Purpose

-Discover and guide students' research thesis.

-In order to plan the student's work, we discuss and create a story, check pre-production, production, and post-production, and create, complete the project together.

-Experience and learn the detail steps of filmmaking process with a professor.

Virtual Studio Lab nurtures and expands practical talents with a broad understanding of VR, and Metaverse's specialized fields through cooperation and vitalizing industry-academy-research collaboration to foster manpower necessary for the rapidly changing future industrial environment.
