ADCF pursues localization of design education and research through basic study founded on the locality of Asia, Korea, and Busan, respectively. The goal of these efforts is to explore the cultural values of Korea and Asia as universality of human culture, as well as to realize the interaction with the cultural heritage around the world.

Externally, we believe true originality can be achieved when our design carries the unique cultural values of the local communities and embarks the journey to the world,

Internally, we trust that the type of design which reflects the cultural contexts and background of the community is the one that can bring us satisfaction in life and improvement of the quality of life.

In addition, in the context of searching for an alternative to the western-oriented design atmosphere since the modern era and a solution to the harmful consequences therefrom, to explore the values of Korea and Asia is worth trying.

ADCF's research model pursues 'knowledge creation and circulation of use', a process of generating design-related studies, applying them to education, and reuse them in design practice.

Through this effort, ADCF strives to play a meaningful role in creation, education, preservation, and distribution of design knowledge, and become the global hub of Korea and Asia design studies.

We, ADCF, are dedicated to design study and education of the nation, and will continue our journey to realize the founding goals as a devoted university research center.
