Busan, South Korea — September 2025 — The Wellness Research Lab and SD4G have officially joined forces to compete in the SDGs Design International Awards 2025, an international competition that highlights creative ideas from young people to advance sustainable societies.
Launched in 2019, the awards have attracted participants from about 15 countries each year, with more than 200 submissions annually. The competition has become a global platform for young designers and students to present ideas that address pressing social and environmental challenges.
The theme for 2025 is Living in an Era of Conflict – “Societal Design Transcending Boundaries.” This year’s awards focus on:
- Design for Peace — sustainable peace-making models and youth-driven global peace networks.
- Designing with Marginalized Voices — attention to people with disabilities, seniors, and multicultural families.
- Living Between Virtual and Real Worlds — building meaningful connections through social media, the metaverse, and generative AI.
Applications are open from October 1 to 30, 2025. Eligible participants include students currently enrolled in universities, graduate schools, vocational institutions, or high schools worldwide. Submissions are welcomed across a wide range of categories, from graphic and product design to fashion, architecture, urban planning, and social issues.
Key dates include the first review in early November, the final review in late November, and the awards ceremony on December 11, 2025 (online).
