This program is a tutoring program in which Dongseo University Korean students help foreign students learn the Korean language and get to know Korean culture, and in return foreign students can help Korean students understand their language and learn their culture. During the semester, the program runs for a total of 5 to 10 weeks, 1:1 matching Korean and foreign students work together.
A total of 441 students (226 Korean students, 215 foreign students) participated in this program in 2021, and a total of 174 students (87 Korean students, 87 foreign students) participated in this program in 2022. We engage in face-to-face activities with foreign students enrolled in Dongseo University, and engage in non-face-to-face activities (using zoom, etc.) with students at overseas universities and King Sejong Institute. Students from PCU Surabaya King Sejong Institute in Indonesia, MRU Vilnius King Sejong Institute in Lithuania, Astrahan King Sejong Institute in Russia, San Antonio King Sejong Institute at St. Mary’s University in the US, Guangdong Foreign Studies University in China, and Ritsumeikan University in Japan have been with them.
본 프로그램은 동서대 재학생들과 외국인 학생들이 자국의 언어와 문화를 알려주며 소통하는 튜터링 프로그램으로 2020년 여름, 파일럿 프로그램으로 처음 시작하여 매년 2회차로 꾸준히 운영 중입니다. 학기 중 5주간 운영되며 1:1로 매칭된 한국인튜터-외국인튜티가 함께 활동합니다. 참여 학생들은 다양한 외국어(영어, 중국어, 일본어 등)를 매개로 하여 온/오프라인으로 만나 1주 1회 이상 튜터링을 진행하며, 서로의 언어와 문화를 교류하면서 외국어 실력을 키우게 됩니다.
지난 2021년에는 총 441명(한국인 학생 226명, 외국인 학생 215명), 2022년에는 총 174명(한국인 87명, 외국인 87명)이 본 프로그램에 참여했습니다. 동서대학교에 재학 중인 외국인학생들과는 대면 중심의 활동을 하며, 국외 대학 및 세종학당의 학생들과는 비대면(zoom 등 활용)으로 활동을 합니다. 인도네시아 PCU 수라바야세종학당, 리투아니아 MRU 빌뉴스세종학당, 러시아 ASU 아스트라한세종학당, 미국 세인트메리대학의 샌안토니오세종학당, 중국 광동외어외무대학, 일본 리츠메이칸대학의 학생들이 그동안 함께 했습니다.
