At the conference, participants explored the cultural, ecological, and wellness significance of the Cheonseongsan Ecological Forest Trail through a series of expert lectures and presentations.
Professor Kessler presentation was titled “The Wellness Trail: Connecting Nature, Movement, and Mind.”
Director Hwang Yun-young of the Yangsan Urban Culture Research Institute delivered the keynote speech, emphasizing the global and sustainable value of Cheonseongsan as “Eurasia’s First Sunshine” and a symbol of ecological renewal.
Professor Emeritus Seong Beom-jung from the University of Ulsan examined Bulji as a historical and spiritual healing site, highlighting its role in restoring both body and mind.
Professor Jeong Gu-jeom, Director of the Wellness Tourism Research Institute at Yeongsan University, discussed the wellness tourism potential of the Cheonseongsan Trail and its integration into broader healing tourism frameworks.
Finally, Professor Choi Oh-sun of the Korea Alpine Federation Training Center presented strategies for developing and educating the public about the Cheonseongsan Ecological Forest Trail, drawing on insights from the Korea Forest Service’s 2022 national hiking experience survey.
Together, these sessions deepened understanding of how ecological trails can connect culture, health, and sustainability while fostering international exchange.
