Dear students,
We would like to inform you of some important guidelines regarding student activities and part-time work. These are essential for your academic management, safety, and legal compliance. Please read carefully.

1. Reporting Activities Outside the Department
If you plan to participate in any activities outside the department, you must inform your academic advisor (supervising professor) in advance. This includes:
 - Programs operated by other departments, RISE projects, or university offices
 - Extracurricular programs from other majors or research projects led by individual professors
 - Any external (off-campus) programs or activities
Reason:
For international students, your academic advisor is responsible not only for your academic progress but also for supporting and guiding you throughout your university life. By informing your advisor in advance, we can:
 - Provide appropriate guidance for both academic and non-academic activities
 - Avoid conflicts between schedules or programs
 - Ensure fair and smooth coordination between departments
 - Properly manage and support student participation
Failure to inform your advisor in advance may lead to issues related to participation, responsibility, or student management.

2. Part-Time Work (Important for International Students)
If you plan to work part-time, you must obtain official permission from immigration before starting any job.
According to D-2 visa regulations for undergraduate students:
 - The basic limit is 10 hours per week during the semester
 - This can be extended to 25 hours per week if you meet certain Korean language or program requirements, such as:
   - TOPIK Level 3 or above (for 1st–2nd year students)
   - TOPIK Level 4 or above (for 3rd–4th year students)
   - Completion of the Social Integration Program (KIIP) or Sejong Institute courses at the required level
   - In this case, weekend work may be allowed without additional hour limits, depending on approval
Important:
Working without permission is illegal.
If you are caught working without proper authorization, you may face serious consequences, such as:
- Fines
- Visa cancellation
- Deportation
- Restrictions on re-entry to Korea
Please make sure to obtain approval before starting any part-time job. For details on permitted and restricted job types, please refer to the official immigration guidelines.

These guidelines are not meant to restrict you, but to protect you and support your academic and personal development.
If you have any questions, please contact your academic advisor.
Thank you.
