An interdisciplinary major designed to cultivate creative, industry-ready AI talent who can apply artificial intelligence and software technologies to solve real-world problems across diverse industries.
Interdisciplinary Majors at Dongseo University are programs developed under the university's strategic specialization plan, focusing on emerging fields driven by future societal demand. These programs do not admit incoming freshmen — instead, current students from any undergraduate program may apply to enroll from their second year onward.
Applied Artificial Intelligence is one such interdisciplinary major, available in three tracks: Primary Major, Double Major, or Minor. Students choose the track that best fits their academic plan and career goals.
The Applied Artificial Intelligence major at Dongseo University's International College is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students to lead innovation in the AI era. Rather than focusing solely on theoretical AI research, the program emphasizes the practical application of AI technologies in industry settings — equipping students with the skills to design, build, deploy, and operate AI systems across fields such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and cloud services.
Conducted entirely in English, the program is open to students from diverse backgrounds and supports international collaboration through joint educational partnerships with overseas universities.
Cultivate AI experts who can creatively solve complex problems by integrating AI and software technologies.
Develop AI specialists with the practical skills demanded by industry — from system design to deployment and operations.
Nurture forward-thinking talent who can leverage AI to create new value, drive industry transformation, and lead responsibly.
Graduates of the Applied AI program will develop four core competencies essential for success in AI-driven industries and research environments.
The ability to integrate AI with software, data science, and mathematics/statistics to solve interdisciplinary problems, including data processing and analysis for effective AI utilization.
The ability to architect AI systems with attention to performance, efficiency, and scalability, and to build and deploy AI applications that meet real-world requirements.
The hands-on ability to implement AI models using tools such as Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, and to handle large-scale data processing and model training in practice.
The ability to follow emerging AI trends, address ethical considerations, and communicate and collaborate effectively in industry and research projects.
Creative problem-solvers who combine AI and software skills to deliver convergent solutions across industries.
Researchers leading advances in reinforcement learning, generative models, and other frontier AI fields.
Practitioners who design, develop, and operate AI-powered solutions for real-world services and products.
