2023 Korean Speech Contest

To celebrate Hangeul Proclamation Day and motivate foreign students to learn Korean, the 2023 International College Korean Speech Contest will be held. We hope many international students can participate in this contest.

○ Targets: International undergraduate/graduate school students (including exchange students)

○ Contest type: Individual competition

○ Submission

  - Deadline: by October 4 (Wed), 2023 (The speech video and the application form should arrive before midnight)

  - Things to submit: A video file of speech and a completed application form (attached in this notice)

   ※ The length of the video should be 1 minute to 3 minutes

  - Online submission: by e-mail at jeong@gdsu.dongseo.ac.kr

○ Event Schedule

    -Video Submission: September 21 (Thu) - October 4 (Wed), 2023

    -Video Screening: October 5 (Thu), 2023

    -Notification of participants going to the finals: October 6 (Fri), 13:00, at the IC website notice

     *The selected final participants should submit a file of their speech scripts by e-mail by October 10 (Tue).

    -Final Contest: October 11 (Wed), 2023, 13:30-15:00 at IC 601 (offline)

○ Subject

  - For beginner’s level: "My Favorite Korean Culture" (내가 좋아하는 한국 문화)

  - For intermediate level: "What I felt in Korea, what I experienced in Busan" (내가 느낀 한국, 내가 경험한 부산)

  - For advanced level: "The Korean expression that I love" (내가 사랑하는 한국어 표현)

○ Evaluation: Speaking skills

○ Evaluation Criteria (Total 10 pt.): Fluency (4pt.), Vocabulary (2pt.), Contents (2pt.), Attitude (2pt.)

○ Awards will be given for 3 categories. 

*If there is no suitable participant for each prize, we may not select a winner of the prize.

○ Prize money and Prize Points

- If the winner is currently in Korea or has a bank account in Korea, will get the prize money.

-For the winner cannot receive prize money (if you are not in Korea or does not have a bank account in Korea), the winner will get the prize points from the relative classes instead.
