The course will focus on Academic English. Through directed practice, students will become familiar with the more advanced language related to academia. The course will provide practical communicative experience by stimulating real life situations for the students to use English. Students will take part in activities that will improve their English and allow them to communicate in English at an academic level. Each of these activities will develop a section of their English ability. Students will incorporate all four language skills in their work. Students will also reflect and critique their classmates English and offer constructive feedback. Students are expected to take an active role in their studies through classroom participation. Students will take full advantage of the wealth of reading materials available in the GSI office. Students will read two magazine articles and discuss the article with their classmates. Throughout the semester the G.S.I. department will run various competitions, including cultural competitions and essay writing competitions. Students will be encouraged to enter these competitions and use their entries as assignments in this class.

Financial management introduces overall technique and theory which is concerned with assessment and making decision on corporate investment, such as entering new businesses, increasing production line, financing for the business expansion, or deciding right timing. In particular, assessing and analyzing the risk of the enterprises due to the result of investment plan is also an important part of financial management.

The course will lecture on information system that provides information necessary to corporate management. It discusses various types of the information systems, their functions, use, structure and information technology required for building IT system. It also covers how to integrate various IT systems and how they can be used.

This course aims to develop students’ professional skills in related area. There are two options to get Pass on this course – either by taking internship (with required number of hours) in a company or organization related to a student’s major or by doing special study or lab research throughout the semester. In first case, internship should be taken before registering for the Field Studies course (i.e., in summer or winter vacation) and then appropriate reports and documents should be presented in the following semester. Otherwise students will have to participate in professor’s lab work (take a part in some project) or do another assignment or study which will enhance their professional skills in related major.

The main purpose of this class is to guide the students as a team. This class will help the students understand better on the global era hence students can learn how to plan and prepare their future. Furthermore, students will be taught fundamental knowledge to be a global leader. To do this, this class pursues the teaching method to maximize the interaction between professor and students such as group discussion.

The course will offer students with knowledge required to understand various investment approaches and theories regarding how to analyze and assess investment results and risk. Through simulated investment which is similar to real conditions, students can sharpen investing skills.

This is an introductory course to basic concepts of collecting information of market and consumers, which is the foundation of marketing activities, managing, analyzing and interpreting the information. It will cover from diagnosis of marketing problems, preparing surveys, sampling and due diligence, data analysis and interpretation, and preparing a report in the end.

The course provides basic knowledge to help students understand consumer behaviors, which is the foundation when establishing marketing strategies. It attempts to examine the decision-making processes of consumers, information processing process, and psychological and socio-cultural factors affecting the consumer behaviors.

The course discusses how to effectively introduce new products (including service, idea, person, organization etc.) or promote sales of the products using information transmission medium not human communication.

Using real financial statements prepared by existing corporations, students can learn how to analyze financial statements and discuss how the statements can be used. The course will provide students with opportunity to improve ability to analyze financial condition of the company which is required for CEOs by learning how to calculate major financial ratios that are necessary in making decision process, assessment method of other corporate values, and relationship between default deposit and credit rating.

This course will provide students holistic view of the new product development arena and will help them gain specific knowledge in how to select, plan, monitor and control a new product development project, using the proper tools and techniques. After this course, students will have a clear view and understanding of the New Product Development (NPD) arena, be able to select the right product configuration based on value (Voice of the customer), cost, time to market and risks, be able to develop a feasible plan for own product, and be able to execute a business plan in an uncertain dynamic environment using the right tools and techniques.

This course is about ethical issues in business and for the students to the development of a moral frame of reference and an awareness of social responsibility in management practices and business activities. The main aims of this course are to expose students to debates about a range of ethical issues and to enhance students' critical reasoning skills. This is accomplished by discussions and dialogues about a variety of topics related to moral and ethical issues in the business world. After completing this course, students will be able to: define business ethics, identify and discuss the consequences of unethical business practices, describe the reasoning for analyzing ethical dilemmas, describe different ethical views from a cultural perspective, explain corporate social responsibility and discuss social and ethical threats emerging from rapidly emerging technological change.

This course is an introduction to service marketing. This course is designed to prepare students who are pursuing marketing careers in the services or goods industries and students desiring to understand the important concepts of services marketing and how they can be used to create competitive advantage for businesses.
