2025 Korean Speech Contest

To celebrate Hangeul Proclamation Day and motivate foreign students to learn Korean, the 2025 International College Korean Speech Contest will be held. We hope many international students can participate in this contest.

○ Targets: International undergraduate/graduate school students (including exchange students)

○ Contest type: Individual competition

○ Submission

  - Deadline: by December 4 (Thu), 2024 (The speech video and the application form should arrive before midnight)

  - Things to submit: A video file of speech and a completed application form (attached in this notice)

   ※ The length of the video should be 1 minute to 3 minutes

  - Online submission: by e-mail at lew24@gdsu.dongseo.ac.kr

○ Event Schedule

    -Video Submission: November 27 (Thu) - December 4 (Thu), 2025

    -Video Screening: December 5 (Fri), 2025

    -Notification of participants going to the finals: December 5 (Fri), 16:00

     *The selected final participants should submit a file of their speech scripts by e-mail by December 9 (Tue).

    -Final Contest: December 10 (Wed) 2025, 13:30-14:50 at IC 601 (offline)

○ Topic: Choose one from the following four topics.

    - A Korean Person I Met
    - K-Content I Want to Introduce
    - Korean Society as Seen through the News
    - My Experiences in Korea this Semester

○ Evaluation: Speaking skills

○ Evaluation Criteria (Total 10 pt.): Fluency (4pt.), Vocabulary (2pt.), Contents (2pt.), Attitude (2pt.)

○ Awards will be given for the following categories. 

    -1st Prize (1 person) : 100,000KRW

    -2nd Prize (3 people) : 70,000KRW

    -3rd Prize (5 people) : 50,000KRW

    -4th Prize (3 people) : 30,000KRW

    *If there are no suitable candidates for a particular category, a winner may not be selected.

○ Prize money

    The prize money will be given to the winner's bank account in Korea.
