[Dongseo Global English Program Welcomes Its 22nd Class]

Dongseo Global English Program Officially Begins After the March 4th Opening Ceremony

Selected Freshmen to Receive One Year of Intensive English Training and Grow into Global Talents

On March 4th (Tuesday), International College held the opening ceremony for the 22nd group of the Dongseo Global English Program.

The Dongseo Global English Program (DGEP) is designed to cultivate globally competitive talents by providing intensive English training to selected outstanding freshmen. Hosted by International College, this program offers an immersive English-learning experience equivalent to studying abroad. Participants enhance their speaking, listening, writing, reading, pronunciation, vocabulary, and presentation skills through focused coursework.

Students selected for the 2025 academic year attended the opening ceremony and orientation before being divided into small groups for English classes taught by native-speaking professors. Over the course of one year, they earn a total of 18 credits (9 credits per semester). In addition to English, they can also take up to three major foundation courses (9 credits) to continue their field of study. Students who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher receive merit-based scholarships, and those who complete the program are awarded a certificate signed by the university president. Additionally, students who wish to take extra major courses may enroll in up to 21 credits per semester.

This year, 49 students from 19 different majors have joined the 22nd group of the Dongseo Global English Program.
