[FAQ about dormitories during winter vacation]
Several students have asked me about the dormitory during winter vacation.
Since the dormitory office is preparing a notice, please refer to the notice later.
Until then, I would like to share the FAQ below.
1) When is the last date to check out?
If you don't want to stay at the dormitory during vacation, you should check out by December 25th, 2022.
From December 26th, the dormitory fee will be charged. If you want to stay a few days after the date, you should report it the dormitory office and pay the fee for the period.
2) When is the date I can start check in?
Since the 2023 spring semester will start on March 2nd, new students will arrive in the week of Feb. 20-24, 2023.
The dormitory fee for 2023 spring semester will be charged from February 20, 2023.
You can come back and check-in earlier, before Feb. 20, but you should report it to the dormitory office and pay the additional fee for the period until Feb. 19.
3) How much to pay for holiday accomodation?
The dormitory fee for winter vacation (Dec. 26th~Feb. 19th) is 400,000Won.
If you check-out after Dec. 26th or check-in before Feb. 19th, you should report it to the dormitory office and pay the fee charged for the period.
4) What is the process to check-out for vacation.
To check out for vacation, you should fill out a moving-out form, one week before your leaving.
To secure your room in the next semester, you should write whether you will come back and what date you will arrive in the form.
If you don't report it, your room will be given to another student in the next semester.
Not to pay the dormitory fee during vacation, you should remove your belongings and return your key to the dormitory office.
If not, the dormitory fee will be charged because it means that you are occupying the room.
The dormitory office can keep two boxes of your luggage at the storage.
5) If only one person check out, will they allocate new roommate, or can the old roommate join back later?
If you report your coming-back date in the moving out form, you can usually go back to your previous room, unless the dormitory office has a special reason to allocate the room for another student.
6) To stay at the dormitory during vacation, what is the process?
You should pay the dormitory fee for the vacation period. The dormitory office will give a notice about it in December.
