Research Group

The research group promoted by the Department of Visual Contents conducts continuous research and projects to develop technology and knowledge in the content area. In particular, it attempts a qualitative research approach directed by professors and students in project execution.

Researchers here are composed of competent professors with at least 10 years of experience in the field of content in this field. In addition, the research environment is supported so that they can work with a sense of responsibility and ownership by forming an organizational culture that is free and creative.

Each member places importance on creative ideas and expands their domain as a leader in the content industry through pioneering technology research and application that can contribute to the development of local communities, countries, and even humankind.

Cultural Heritage Digital Restoration Lab

Purpose
To operate the only digital restoration research institute of cultural heritage in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsang Province.

WIPCO Inc is a company that holds a leading 3Dscanning technology, offering services including 3D design of existing plantsusing Lidar 3D scanning equipment, basic data collecting of BIM, 3D digitalmanagement of buildings, and 3D restoration of cultural heritage. Itestablished HDAC (Heritage Digital Archive Center), a foundation within thecompany, to independently and systematically investigate and record domesticand foreign cultural heritage and seek efficient preservation measures.
In particular, it provided 3D data for therestoration project of Sungnyemun Gate and has the largest record of 3Dcultural heritage in Korea and sales of up to 3D scanners and relatedapplication software.
