About this Research Lab
We are a South Korean-based Research Lab founded in 2022 by Danny Kessler Ph.D., which explores innovative solutions and inspires leaders and organizations to transform their work environments for high performance. At the Workplace Wellness Research Lab, we provide research-backed actionable solutions to the challenges facing today’s workforce.
Our Ambition
Every day, more than 3 billion people around the world go to work. In a lifetime, the average person will spend at least 90,000 hours working. Employees are every company’s greatest asset and they need to be healthy and secure in order to be motivated, engaged, and productive at work. The global workplace wellness market is estimated by the Global Wellness Institute to be at $48.5 billion in 2020. Employers around the world are beginning to adopt a more holistic approach that encompasses company culture, hierarchy, leadership style, workflow, and built environment, to improve morale, retention, and recruitment; and increase productivity and competitiveness.
Wellness Research Opportunities
The Workplace Wellness Research Lab is committed to research, development, and testing of new and existing innovations designed to improve the health and well-being of individuals as they live, work, learn, and play within built environments.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Working with an active research group gives students the opportunity to put book knowledge to work in a more 'real world' research setting. You build on the work of others, collaborate with others, gather and interpret data, and present the results for peer review and feedback.
Graduate Research Opportunities
We conduct research from the domains of positive psychology such as Ryan & Deci (2012) Self Determination Theory and Psychological Captial Luthans (2007), and Fredrickson (2001) Broaden-and-Build Theory of Positive Emotions. You have the opportunity to publish research articles with Professor Kessler.
